Midwife Life Reveals on this Full Moon in Aries

Midwifery was a calling but it is even more then that…it was like my soul would only feel complete if I honored this dharma. The call to midwifery came lovingly whispered in my ear, it was also shouted from the mountain tops & roared in the wind, until there was none other but a YES….The path of midwifery is one of incredible joy, satisfaction, and warm love…this path is also one of deep grief, of severe vulnerability & of profound lessons of trust beyond what most beings experience, that will surely carry throughout eternity. To look Fear in the eye and tell it to Fuck off!, to hold the space for new life to emerge, to shatter the medical industry’s dark paradigm, to tell mamas scary things as tears well up in their eyes and your heart sharply aches, to be loved so much but also rejected, even hated…midwifery is a rocky path, a wild ride, where the nervous system must be constantly nursed back to health, where values and protocols are continually re-evaluated and boundaries are pushed to the limits. It’s praying so hard for protection as you start out a long dark drive on an hour’s sleep in a monsoon, it’s guiding a family to stay calm and birth their baby without you via the phone, as the stars shine overhead and you curse the 45 minutes left of the trip to them…it’s navigating every single family’s unique beliefs, needs and desires…it’s helping many to heal from wounds they didn’t even know they had and always, yes always, remembering the Holiness that is Breath.
