Pregnancy Support
Receive support during pregnancy including emotional support, herbal and nutritional support, healing massages, referrals to care providers including midwives, natrapaths, chiropractors, body and energy workers.

I meet with you throughout your pregnancy to discuss your desires surrounding your birth and my role as your doula. I help mothers explore the many decisions and options surrounding the birth and newborn care. I provide information, knowledge and resources. I help you create your birth plan and am there to answer any questions you may have.

Birth doula care
Loving Labor Support; The Unfolding Lotus Birth Support provides the birthing mother with constant support during the entire birthing process. I am there throughout your entire birth process to calm, reassure, nurture and comfort. I provide the birthing mother with emotional support, position suggestions, pain coping techniques, affirmations, offerings of herbal support, aromatherapy, massage and other comfort measures.

I offer knowledge and information about the birth process. I provide information about the options during labor and birth so that you can make informed decisions about your birth. I advocate for the mother, the baby and the whole family.

The father, partner or other family members, also benefit from my care during the birth. As a doula I do not take the place of a supportive partner, but support the partner so he can support the mother and also have a wonderful birth. The birthing family's needs are honored. With the energy of birth, sacred space is created. I protect that sacred space of birth.

Postpartum Support
Immediately following the birth I stay with the mother and provide breastfeeding support if needed. I will prepare a "birthday" meal and help clean up. I offer high quality herbs to speed the mother's healing after the work of birthing. I visit the family at least 3 times following the birth. I also offer the postpartum mother hot healing herbal baths, Chinese moxabustion treatment and again, massage to help promote relaxing and healing. I also help coordinate support from the family's friends.

Postpartum doula care is also offered. This includes helping with older siblings, newborn care, running errands, preparing meals, picking up groceries and light housekeeping. My role is to provide non-intrusive, non-judgmental support according to the family’s needs and wishes. I am there to facilitate your time to relax, and heal.

Rates
Unfolding Lotus Birth Support includes:

* 4 Prenatal visits (more as needed)
* Identification of your support needs
* Meeting with your care provider if desired
* Unlimited phone consultations continually throughout pregnancy and postpartum
* 24 hour on-call availability during your due date range (3 weeks before and after your due date)
* Continuous birth support
* 3 Postpartum visits
* Ongoing support as needed and extensive referral services
* Professional Doula Rates Range: $400 - $800*

* I believe all pregnant woman deserve support regardless of ability to pay. If you are low income please contact me about payment plans and sliding scale rates.

Postpartum doula care:
$20- 25 hour with a 2 hour minimum.
