L. Partner - Doula, Herbalist
"Serving birthing women
is my passion and joy."
I received my doula training at the Seattle Midwifery school in
1997. I received a B.A. from The Evergreen State College in 1997
where I studied Botany and Herbal Medicine, Art and Photography
and Midwifery and Doula Studies. I have been practicing as a doula
since 2000. It has been a wonderfully rewarding and incredible journey.
In the winter of 2003 I began actively studying midwifery, learning
from local midwives and organizing study groups with a group of
student midwives. I am presently continuing my studies of midwifery
with local midwives as well as independently. As well as supporting
women and families with the Unfolding Lotus Birth Support, I am
currently assisting a local midwife in her practice. In the future
I plan to travel to South America or India to assist birthing women.
I grow and wildcraft herbs and craft high-quality medicines as well
as work with another experienced herbalist to offer a comprehensive
apothecary called the Angelic Apothecary. Herbs support a healthy
pregnancy, ease the labor process, naturally heal the perineum after
birth and are used throughout the child's whole life to heal childhood
sicknesses.
I
practice gem therapy, offering the healing properties of gems to
women. Crystals and gems are laid on the body or used as an essence
internally to harness the amazing and subtle healing qualities of
these beautiful gifts from the earth.
I
offer doula care in any setting. I have experience with births at
home, in a birth center and in the hospital. I have experience with
supporting women through VBAC. I am very passionate about helping
a mother heal from a previous Cesearean birth and go on to birth
vaginally. I have also supported women through cesearean birth.
I offer cesearean healing ceremonies to bring sacred healing to
women who have had a cesearean birth.
I joyfully support women and their families as they embark on the
sacred journey of pregnancy, birthing and parenting. |
